PAINTINGS

From an early age I had an unusual (some might say slightly strange...) preoccupation with drawing and painting different coloured stripes. In fact I don't remember a time when I wasn't fascinated by colour combinations and their mutual impact.

 

My work - as a textile designer and as an artist - has always been about celebrating colours, illustrating the joyful and demanding relationships between them and the emotions they spark, often in harmony but also with an element of the unexpected.

 

For me, the observation of colour proportions is an everyday habit, in any setting, consistently recorded in the many note books stacked in my studio. It's a way of life which has formed the basis of all my work.
